Volunteer

Pack 62 runs because parents step in and help. You do not need Scouting experience — just a willingness to show up. We provide training, meeting plans, and support so you are never figuring it out alone.

Ways to Help

  • Den Leader or Assistant — Lead or co-lead a small group of Scouts through their weekly adventures. We give you the meeting plans and walk you through the first few weeks.
  • Pack Committee — Help with planning, finances, events, and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the pack running smoothly.
  • Event Support — Campouts, Pinewood Derby, service projects, Blue and Gold banquet. These events need extra hands, and every bit of help matters.
  • Behind the Scenes — Advancement tracking, communications, fundraising coordination, logistics. If you are organized and prefer to work in the background, there is a place for you.

Not Sure Where You Fit?

Take the Talent Survey — it takes about two minutes, and we will match you to something that fits your schedule and strengths.

How to Get Started

  1. Talk to your den leader or the Cubmaster about where help is needed.
  2. Fill out a BSA Adult Volunteer Application.
  3. Complete Youth Protection Training online — about 60 minutes, and it is straightforward.
  4. Submit your application and YPT certificate to the Pack Committee.

Youth Protection Training is required before you work with Scouts and renews every two years. It covers appropriate adult–youth interactions, recognizing concerns, and BSA’s safety standards.
