Registration is a simple paper application we'll hand you at a meeting — $30 for the year at our council-sponsored rate, paid by check or cash to Atlanta Area Council.
Pack dues are $10 for each month we hold meetings, collected at regular meetings (check or cash to Cub Scout Pack 62). Cost should never be a barrier — confidential assistance covers registration, uniforms, and handbooks; just ask a leader.
Registering online charges the flat national fee of $85 — non-refundable, and it says so at checkout. There is no way to apply our sponsored $30 rate online, and no way to undo the charge afterward. A paper application with the pack is $30. Same Scout, same program.
A parent or guardian stays for every meeting and every event — no drop-offs, at every grade. That's Pack 62 policy: Cub Scouting is a parent-child program, and parents are the program. No uniform needed on day one; when you're ready, start with the $13.99 pack t-shirt. More on uniforms here.
Nothing to bring, nothing to prepare — meet in the Children's Building at the church, park in the main lot, and someone at the door will point you to the right room. GPS tip: search "Lithia Springs Methodist Church" by name — the street address misroutes. When you arrive, cross the railroad tracks; the Children's Building is on the left side of the church property. Shortly after you join, we'll ask you to fill out a quick family talent survey — every family helps somewhere, and it tells us what you'd enjoy.
All new Cub Scouts earn the Bobcat rank first — a quick introduction to the foundations of Scouting: the Scout Oath & Law, the Scout salute & handshake, and the motto — "Do Your Best!"

Scouting has its own vocabulary, and nobody explains it to new families. Here's the short version:
A small group of Scouts in the same grade — your Scout's home base within the pack.
All the dens together — that's us, Pack 62. Meetings bring the dens together for den time, pack-wide activities, and awards.
Each grade works toward one rank (Lion through Arrow of Light) by completing hands-on activities called adventures.
Trained parent volunteers. The Cubmaster runs pack meetings; den leaders run your Scout's den.
We belong to the Atlanta Area Council (our regional Scouting America office) and are sponsored by Lithia Springs Methodist Church.
