Volunteer and
Be Part of the Adventure

Cub Scouting is a family-centered program, and it thrives because of the dedication of parent volunteers like you! Whether you can help a little or a lot, there’s a role for everyone.

Why Volunteer?

Scouting is about creating amazing experiences for kids—and that happens because of adult leaders and helpers who step up. Volunteering is a great way to:

  • Spend quality time with your child and their friends.
  • Help shape young minds through outdoor adventures, leadership, and teamwork.
  • Build lasting friendships with other Scouting families.
  • Learn new skills while making a meaningful impact.

Ways to Get Involved

You don’t need to be a Scouting expert—just a willingness to help! Pick a role that fits your time and talents:

  • Den Leader or Assistant – Guide a small group of Scouts through adventures and activities.
  • Cubmaster or Assistant – Lead pack meetings and keep the energy high.
  • Pack Committee Member – Plan events, support leaders, manage finances, and help the pack run smoothly.
  • Event Helper – Support campouts, Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold, and service projects.
  • Behind-the-Scenes – Social media, fundraising, logistics, advancement tracking, or paperwork.

How to Get Started

Getting involved is easy—here are the steps:

Keeping Scouts Safe:
Youth Protection Training (YPT)

YPT is required for all volunteers before working with Scouts and must be renewed every two years. It’s an online course that covers the BSA’s Barriers to Abuse, appropriate adult–Scout interactions, and how to recognize & report concerns.

How Cub Scouting is Organized

Our pack is part of a larger Scouting structure, and each part plays an important role:

  • Den – Scouts in the same grade, led by a Den Leader.
  • Pack – All dens together, led by a Cubmaster and a Pack Committee.
  • Chartered Organization – The local organization that sponsors and supports the pack.
  • Council & District – Provide training, resources, and events for packs in the area.
